An Impromptu Campaign

DM [5:02 PM]:
You wake up in a dimly lit room with a terrible unsettling feeling in your stomach. You barely remember the dinner party from the night before where you had too much drink.
DM [5:02 PM]:
What do you do
DM [5:02 PM]:
?
Me [5:03 PM]:
reach for my sword
DM [5:03 PM]:
You reach for your scabbard at your side but find that it is missing.
Me [5:03 PM]:
I reach for my bow and/or arrows
DM [5:04 PM]:
You look for your bow and/or arrows but remember that you sold them the previous night to a mischevious looking gnome.
Me [5:04 PM]:
I go kill the gnome
Me [5:04 PM]:
can I see a door in the room?
DM [5:05 PM]:
You look around and see two doors and a dark hallway. 1 door to the east, 1 door to the south, and the hallway is to the west.
DM [5:05 PM]:
You also see a table with a piece of paper and a backpack on the floor.
Me [5:05 PM]:
I take the door that will lead me to the gnomes house
DM [5:05 PM]:
You try both doors but find them locked.
Me [5:05 PM]:
oh, i grabbed thebackpack too
Me [5:05 PM]:
I bash them down
DM [5:06 PM]:
You pick up the backpack and find it to be remarkably light.
DM [5:06 PM]:
You kick, you shove, you scream, but these doors do not budge.
Me [5:06 PM]:
I'll take 10 for bashing down the doors
Me [5:06 PM]:
what!?
DM [5:06 PM]:
The doors remain sturdy
Me [5:07 PM]:
I cast "open lock" on the doors
DM [5:07 PM]:
You attempt to cast a spell to unlock the doors, but find that their is a strong magical presence nearby negating all of your spells.
Me [5:07 PM]:
I pick the locks with my +2 lockpicking tools
DM [5:08 PM]:
You have no lockpicking tools.
Me [5:08 PM]:
fine, I go down the hallway.
DM [5:09 PM]:
You leave the piece of paper and walk down the hallway. You are at the end of the hallway.
Me [5:09 PM]:
yep, I left the piece of paper
Me [5:09 PM]:
its a dead end?
Me [5:09 PM]:
so, why's there a hallway that doesn't go anywhere?
DM [5:09 PM]:
You look up and see a picture on the wall in front of you, a door to the N and a door to the S. You also seemed to pass a door earlier which led to the N.
Me [5:10 PM]:
oh
Me [5:10 PM]:
was there anyone else passed out with me in the room or hallway?
DM [5:11 PM]:
You look around for signs of life, but do not see or hear anything indicating such.
Me [5:11 PM]:
I'm disappointed in myself for passing out alone.
Me [5:11 PM]:
I read the paper
Me [5:12 PM]:
its too long, I think about not reading it all
DM [5:12 PM]:
You go back down the hallway and pick up the piece of paper, it reads as such:

HAHAHAHA!!! I got you now, play my game or die!
I gave you a deadly poison that will take effect in 45 minutes.
You must find the antidote and the way out or die!

Mischevious Gnome.
Me [5:13 PM]:
i eat the backpack
DM [5:13 PM]:
You eat the entire backpack, luckily, you have a very large stomach.
Me [5:14 PM]:
I check all the doors in the hallway
DM [5:14 PM]:
You then proceed to vomit the entire backpack.
DM [5:14 PM]:
They are all open.
Me [5:14 PM]:
I investigate them all
DM [5:15 PM]:
You begin with the first door, it leads into a small room fairly well lit due to a candle on a small table. There is also a shovel leaning against the wall. The door to the N leads down another dark hallway. The door to the S seems to be a longer room with something shiny on the other end on a Pedastel.
Me [5:16 PM]:
I go take a closer look at the pedastel
DM [5:17 PM]:
You take a closer look at the pedastel and see a small silver key resting on top. The room seems very strange and ominous to you.
Me [5:17 PM]:
i finally decide to look in the backpack
DM [5:17 PM]:
The backpack is empty
Me [5:18 PM]:
I duck behind the pedastal and grab the key
DM [5:19 PM]:
You hear a small click and hear several strange sounds and a few puffs of wind like breath go over your head.
DM [5:19 PM]:
You also, now have the silver key.
Me [5:19 PM]:
I crawl out of the room
DM [5:20 PM]:
Scared out of your mind, you very carefully crawl out of the room and are now standing in the hallway once again.
DM [5:20 PM]:
The picture is now on your right, and their is a door to the N and the other door to the N is still down the hallway to your left.
Me [5:21 PM]:
I go see if the key fits into the locked doors' locks
DM [5:21 PM]:
You go back to the two locked doors and try the lock in the silver door, it fits.
Me [5:21 PM]:
what color is the other door?
Me [5:21 PM]:
other locked door
DM [5:21 PM]:
You look at the other door and see that it is golden.
Me [5:22 PM]:
/ooc: do I need to make a map, or is it not a big deal yet?
DM [5:23 PM]:
You think about making a map, but realize that this cannot be a very big place because this gnome is not very wealthy.
Me [5:24 PM]:
i open the silver door
DM [5:24 PM]:
You look inside the brightly decorated red room and see a beautiful woman with bright red lipstick sleeping on a carpet in the corner. She seems oddly familiar.
Me [5:25 PM]:
i quietly close the door
Me [5:25 PM]:
and back out
DM [5:25 PM]:
Nothing happens.
Me [5:26 PM]:
I go back to the north door at the end of the hallway to the west
Me [5:27 PM]:
and open it
Me [5:27 PM]:
wait
DM [5:27 PM]:
You look down a hallway lit with strange ethereal lights.
Me [5:27 PM]:
I'm not dead?
Me [5:27 PM]:
is the ink on the paper dry?
DM [5:28 PM]:
The ink on the paper that you read earlier was almost dry.
Me [5:28 PM]:
hrmph
Me [5:28 PM]:
I try to recall if I know how long ink takes to dry
DM [5:29 PM]:
In this world, the ink takes about 30 minutes to completely dry.
Me [5:30 PM]:
so if the ink was almost dry 17 minutes ago, I'm probably a little nervous about keeling over any minute now
DM [5:31 PM]:
You have 30 minutes, the gnome estimated the time you would get up.
DM [5:31 PM]:
...and read the paper.
Me [5:31 PM]:
yeah, whatever.
i open the door to the south
DM [5:32 PM]:
You did not need to open the door because it was opened before and you see the empty pedastal.
Me [5:32 PM]:
wait
DM [5:32 PM]:
You have 3 other options (the small room, the hallway to the N, and the silver door)
Me [5:32 PM]:
the hallway has 3 doors, right?
Me [5:33 PM]:
2 at the end and one in the middle
DM [5:33 PM]:
1 to the S (Pedastal), 2 N (1 small room middle, 1 hallway at the end)
DM [5:33 PM]:
Yes.
Me [5:34 PM]:
I'm in front of the picture, right?
DM [5:34 PM]:
Sure.
Me [5:34 PM]:
whats it a picture of?
DM [5:35 PM]:
You inspect the picture, there is a beautiful young lady with red lipstick sucking a king dry of his blood.
Me [5:35 PM]:
after lookng at the picture, I open the other unlocked door
DM [5:35 PM]:
small room or hallway
Me [5:35 PM]:
oh, right
DM [5:35 PM]:
Oh, you open the door to the small room.
DM [5:35 PM]:
You already opened the hallway with the strange lights.
Me [5:36 PM]:
yeah
Me [5:36 PM]:
I look around the small room
DM [5:36 PM]:
You see a shovel and a candle.
Me [5:36 PM]:
is the candle lit?
DM [5:36 PM]:
Yes.
Me [5:37 PM]:
i grab the shovel, and go down the hallway to the north(I think its north)
Me [5:37 PM]:
yeah, north
Me [5:37 PM]:
can i ready an improvised weapon while moving?
DM [5:38 PM]:
You pass a rotten ladder leading up, pass a door on your right, and come to a turn in the hallway, it leads right, their is a door to your left.
Me [5:38 PM]:
i open the door to the right
DM [5:38 PM]:
It is a small room.
Me [5:38 PM]:
empty?
DM [5:39 PM]:
No, there is a wooden spike on the floor.
Me [5:39 PM]:
can i reach it without stepping through the door?
DM [5:39 PM]:
No, the floor looks sturdy though and it is a plain room.
Me [5:39 PM]:
i grab the spike
DM [5:40 PM]:
You walk into the room and grab the spike, nothing happens.
Me [5:40 PM]:
and continue back down the hallway to the north and east
Me [5:40 PM]:
oh wait
Me [5:40 PM]:
I remeber the door to the left
Me [5:40 PM]:
and go back and open it
DM [5:40 PM]:
Stairs leading down.
Me [5:41 PM]:
I yell madly
DM [5:41 PM]:
Nothing happens.
Me [5:42 PM]:
i inspect the ladder to see if it can hold my weight
DM [5:42 PM]:
You walk up to the ladder, feel it, it crumbles into dust upon touch.
DM [5:42 PM]:
Your stomach begins to feel quite upset.
Me [5:43 PM]:
i didn't read the note until 5:12
Me [5:43 PM]:
I have 15 minutes
DM [5:43 PM]:
Yes.
Me [5:43 PM]:
mk
Me [5:43 PM]:
I go down the stairs
Me [5:43 PM]:
I knew I shouldn't have read the note
DM [5:43 PM]:
You reach a hallway with a door to the left and a dark opening at the end of the hallway.
Me [5:44 PM]:
I open the door
DM [5:44 PM]:
There is a copper cage with what looks to be a large bit of rope with a hook strapped to it. You cannot reach it.
Me [5:45 PM]:
i walk towards the dark opening
DM [5:45 PM]:
It is too dark to see what's through the opening.
Me [5:45 PM]:
i continue
Me [5:46 PM]:
shovel at the ready
DM [5:46 PM]:
You walk into a room, it feels quite large. You cannot see your hand in front of your face.
Me [5:46 PM]:
i go back and get the candle, and come back
Me [5:46 PM]:
uh, i stick the spike in my pocket
DM [5:47 PM]:
You can now see 5 feet in every direction, you see nothing around but stone floor.
Me [5:47 PM]:
i walk around the parimeter
DM [5:48 PM]:
You follow the wall and find it to be a large room with walls of 100 feet length each.
DM [5:48 PM]:
It is square.
DM [5:48 PM]:
Nothing interesting is on the walls.
Me [5:48 PM]:
i walk from the corner right of the door towards the opposite corner
DM [5:49 PM]:
You begin to walk, as you walk you notice there is a pool in the center, do you continue to walk through the pool?
Me [5:49 PM]:
how deep is it?
DM [5:49 PM]:
You cannot see the bottom with your candle light.
DM [5:50 PM]:
It is about 50 feet in diameter.
Me [5:50 PM]:
I run back to the lady with red lipstick and kill her with the shovel
Me [5:50 PM]:
and spike
Me [5:51 PM]:
specifically, i stab the spike into her chest and then hit it with the shovel
DM [5:51 PM]:
ugh...
Me [5:51 PM]:
she's a vampire
DM [5:52 PM]:
You stab the lady in red with the spike, she immidiately turns to ash and you swing wildly at nothing with your shover.
DM [5:52 PM]:
*shovel
Me [5:53 PM]:
the n/s hallway's door the the left
Me [5:53 PM]:
to the*
Me [5:53 PM]:
I open it
DM [5:54 PM]:
Huh?
DM [5:54 PM]:
You have opened all the doors you have come upon except for the golden one.
Me [5:55 PM]:
DM [5:38 PM]:
You pass a rotten ladder leading up, pass a door on your right, and come to a turn in the hallway, it leads right, their is a door to your left.
DM [5:55 PM]:
That door to the left was down the stairs.
Me [5:55 PM]:
ah
DM [5:55 PM]:
You haven't been down the hallway though to the right :)
Me [5:55 PM]:
i set the candle at the door to the large room, and then go look into the pool
DM [5:56 PM]:
You nearly fall in and fail to see anything in the dark.
DM [5:56 PM]:
You do hear some splashing though.
Me [5:56 PM]:
i ask who's there
DM [5:56 PM]:
No answer.
Me [5:56 PM]:
i ask again
DM [5:56 PM]:
No answer.
DM [5:56 PM]:
The pool has grown still again.
Me [5:57 PM]:
i enter the pool from a corner, and swim towards the opposite corner
DM [5:58 PM]:
You attempt to swim from one corner, but you are eaten by several large fish that were swimming in the water. They in turn die 45 minutes later from the poison they ingested.
Me [5:58 PM]:
haha
Me [5:59 PM]:
i now have two objects that need my revenge
Me [5:59 PM]:
the gnome, and his large fish
Me [5:59 PM]:
oh, they died
DM [5:59 PM]:
want the spoiler?
Me [5:59 PM]:
so just the gnome
Me [5:59 PM]:
sure
DM [5:59 PM]:
The vampire was sleeping on a magic carpet you could have used to go up the ladder area and out to the andidote and escape...or...
Me [6:00 PM]:
i got close that way
DM [6:00 PM]:
you could have gone down the hallway found a torch and sword, had to choose which one unknowngst to you because the other disappears at touch of the other
Me [6:00 PM]:
i probably got halfway done with both solutions
DM [6:00 PM]:
and found a fishing pole in a room in that hallway
DM [6:01 PM]:
you could have used the torch to see the fish and the copper key at the bottom of the pool
DM [6:01 PM]:
you could have caught all the fish and swam and got the key
DM [6:01 PM]:
or you could have tried to hook the key and grab the hook and use that to escape
DM [6:01 PM]:
there was no gold key
DM [6:01 PM]:
if you managed to find an amazing way to get in, it was just a pit with spikes
DM [6:02 PM]:
if you took the sword it would be tough, the torch would light up the big room nicely
DM [6:02 PM]:
well, that was fun
Me [6:02 PM]:
yeah it was
